GETOVERHER captures the feeling of stimulus overload on his new single, "Distractions." The Jamaica Queens native sings over a stripped down track that builds from snapping fingers, to engulfing reverb, to light guitar strums produced by MNTN & Zach Surp. Additional Vocals by Isabella Sirota, Michelle Fahme, MG Club & Zach Surp; recorded by Hasan Insane at Red Bull Arts NYC; mixed by Bok Bok (Night Slugs); mastered by Sebastian Apolinario.
Even being conscious of said distractions, GETOVERHER is self-aware of his wandering eyes and mind. "The song is about the constant struggle I have with pursuing romance and sex," says GETOVERHER. "Women remain at the epicenter of my creative inspiration but my fascination, and intense attraction to their allure often distracts me from reaching my highest potential as an artist and businessman," he adds unapologetically.
Today's delivery of "Distractions" builds anticipation for ANAVY BLUE EP, GETOVERHER's follow up to his 2016 debut BLACKWATCHSAD. Tomorrow, GETOVERHER will host the "Distractions" release party at Beverly's in NYC's Lower East Side. On Saturday, he will appear on Full Service Radio (hosted by Jack Inslee) performing a live DJ set.
