Swedish songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Freja Drakenberg (aka Freja The Dragon) is excited to release her debut single "Tell Me I'm Wrong" - available today on all DSPs via artist collective INGRID (STREAM HERE). The track was co-produced by Peter Bjorn and John's Björn Yttling (Neko Case, Lykke Li, Chrissie Hynde) and was recorded between INGRID studios and the legendary Atlantis studio in Stockholm. Freja The Dragon will be making her first live appearances next month at the Bylarm Festival in Oslo, Norway on both March 1st and 2nd.
Shortly after graduating from Stockholm's prestigious Royal College of Music in 2016, Freja started working with Björn as an audio engineer at INGRID studios. Following the release of Peter Bjorn and John's Breakin' Point, she joined the band as a percussionist, guitarist and vocalist on their massive world tour, further cementing the duos creative relationship and her own artistic drive. "Tell Me I'm Wrong" is the first track to come from a year-long collaboration between Freja an Björn in which they completely isolated themselves in an effort to find the perfect sonic landscape for Freja's distinctive voice and arrangements to thrive. The songwriting and recording sessions evolved into her expressive alter ego Freja The Dragon and an album's worth of new music.
Before starting my internship for Björn, he was already one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to writing and producing music. That's why doing this with him feels extra special. I love working with him, he's always pushed me to go for it, whether it be as a producer, musician or songwriter." - Freja
"Freja is such a boss. I should be her intern." - Björn
