Nashville's Free Throw is excited to release the third instant-grat track "Hope Spot," off its forthcoming sophomore album Bear Your Mind - due out May 26th on Triple Crown Records! The track follows the March release of "Randy, I am the Liquor," and the April release of "Better Have Burn Heal," which saw singer Cory Castro open-up to The FADER about his body image issues, saying "I know that a lot of people struggle with their bodies, their identity, or even just themselves in general; I've been there and I'm still learning to love myself to this day." In that same vein, Castro pours more of himself into "Hope Spot," a vulnerable, swelling track that first caught the attention of Triple Crown owner Fred Feldman and lead to the signing of the band.

"Hope Spot is a song I wrote about my journey through the contemplation of starting a relationship," explains Castro, "from the trust issues that lead me to deny the relationship at first, to figuring out that the relationship was something that I had truly wanted, and the big realization that it may have been too late. Lives sometimes weave in and out of each other, and feelings and emotions can be the same way. We really wanted to capture that in the way the song sounds, especially with guitar effects and the slow build throughout the song. It may be a song about a relationship, but deep down it's also a song about attempting to overcome trust issues, opening-up, and realizing that sometimes you may have been letting the wrong things hold you back."

Since the March announcement of Bear Your Mind, momentum has been building for Free Throw, with the A.V. Club describing the band as "pop-punk drenched in throat-shredding emotion with a side of shimmery, arpeggiated guitar" and The FADER stating, "Free Throw are doing emo right." Just earlier this year, Noisey highlighted the band, along with Julien Baker and other Nashville artists, as being mainstays in the cultivation of the area's scene - but as they grow from basement shows to clubs, Free Throw maintains the sincerity and DIY mentality that fans have come to love.

Free Throw's sophomore album Bear Your Mind was produced by Brett Romnes (The Early November, I Am The Avalanche) and mixed by Vince Ratti (Braid, Tigers Jaw,mewithoutYou) and is available for pre-order HERE. "Hope Spot" is available today via all DSPS and can be streamed HERE. All confirmed dates for the band's US headline tour can be found below, including a special in-store performance at Grimey's in Nashville.
