Guests have the opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the leading interpreters of the American songbook with this special event in one of Chicago's most legendary spaces, the Palmer House's Empire Room. The Empire Room was first opened in 1925 as an elegant dining room and immediately brought in large crowds wanting to experience an unforgettable evening. The room's glamorous design can immediately be seen as a staircase inspired by the Paris Opera leads directly from the lobby of the Palmer House to the Empire Room. It has been said by many that walking in to the Empire Room is like taking a step back in time. Its rich history is what makes the room sparkle today.

The fabled Empire Room, which dating back to 1933, played host to some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Judy Garland, Liberace, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry Belafonte and Louis Armstrong. The Empire Room is especially meaningful in the life of Sinatra as a young Frances Albert Sinatra from Hoboken, New Jersey had his beginnings in 1938, as the "boy singer" with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

"The Empire Room's significance, not just to the Palmer House and the city of Chicago, but to the country as a whole, was staggering," said Palmer House Hilton Director of Public Relations and Resident Historian Ken Price.
