Iconic punk festival Rebellion are proud to be able to confirm sets by not one, but two former Sex Pistols members at this year's event at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, August 3rd to the 6th. After the Sex Pistols disbanded in chaos, guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook formed The Professionals in 1979 and released the excellent 'I Didn't See It Coming' album in 1981, but had fallen apart by 1982 after a car accident on their American tour. The band returned in 2015, however, and have been playing incendiary shows ever since and will release a new album in 2017 that will also feature guitar work from Steve Jones.

"I'm really looking forward to playing Rebellion for the very first time with The Professionals," states drummer Paul Cook. "The band is on fire at the moment, and we can't wait to play songs old and new. See you down the front!"

Also on the line-up this year is former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock who will be performing an acoustic set as well as a live Q&A with renowned journalist Barry Cain.

2016 saw Rebellion Festival celebrate its 20th year alongside the 40th anniversary of punk with a spectacular sold-out event. Over four days at Blackpool's Winter Gardens, legendary bands from every aspect of punk across the world shared stages with new and emerging talent. And Rebellion 2017 looks set to be no different.

Rebellion 2017 sees new ground-breaking bands such as Kent duo Slaves, Evil Blizzard, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Wonk Unit rubbing shoulders with a legendary line-up that includes the likes of Bad Religion, The Skids, DOA, Alternative TV, Neville Staples Band, Good Riddance, Propaghandhi, Scream (who once featured Dave Grohl), Toyah, Richie Ramone, Pennywise, Leftover Crack, Ruts DC and many many more.
