Famed musician and songwriter Burton Cummings will bring his timeless sound to The Orleans Showroom on January 17 and 18.
Cummings began his music journey as the lead singer of the Canadian band The Guess Who, whose hits included "These Eyes," "Laughing, No Time," "American Woman," "Share The Land," and "Hang On To Your Life." The band was the first Canadian group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard charts, as well as the first to earn a platinum album for sales of more than 1 million copies in the United States.
In 1976, Cummings began his solo career achieving a gold record for his debut single, "Stand Tall." To follow, Cummings produced more than a dozen hit singles and albums, including "I'm Scared," "My Own Way to Rock" and "Timeless Love." Cummings continued his career by starring in several top-rated television specials, going on tour as a member of Ringo Starr's All Starr Band, and releasing his first live solo album "Massey Hall" in 2012.
Cummings is a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame, Canadian Walk of Fame, Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame and Prairie Music Hall of Fame. He is a recipient of multiple Juno Awards, the Order of Canada, the Order of Manitoba, the Governor-General's Performance Arts Award and several BMI (Broadcast Music Industry) awards for more than 1 million airplays of his songs.
