As the release of Foals' eagerly anticipated new album What Went Down approaches this Friday, the band can now present the latest taste of what to expect with the new track "London Thunder".
A special CCTV
Session version of "London Thunder", filmed live at Studios La Fabrique in the south of France, has today been premiered by Mashable and can be viewed
HERE. Foals first established the CCTV Sessions concept for the launch of their Holy Fire album and the audio content was later released in a limited edition vinyl format. The CCTV Sessions offers an intimate, fly-on-the-wall view of the band live in the studio.
The studio version of "London Thunder" ascends from its haunting, hymnal introduction into a heavily percussive march towards its cacophonous climax. It is now available as an instant download to accompany all
pre-orders of What Went Down.
"It's probably informed by touring," said vocalist/guitarist Yannis Philippakis in a recent
track-by-track interview with NME. "We've been to a lot of airports over the last few years, and sometimes there's this cool melancholy to an airport at a certain hour of the evening. It's about being away and having some sort of experience that changes you, and waiting to return, knowing that the world you're returning to will be subtly different because you are."
A further insight into the new album will be provided by guitarist Jimmy Smith in an exclusive Q&A hosted by SoundCloud which commences at 3p EST this afternoon. To tune in, click

Foals will complete their preparation for the launch of What Went Down with an intimate album launch show at London's
Village Underground tomorrow evening. They'll then embark upon a Sold Out UK club tour in November. U.S. fans will have the chance to celebrate the release at special release day listening parties taking place at cities across the country.
