The center stage at The Burt Reynolds Institute will resonate with the chiseled sounds of singer/songwriter Rick Seguso on Saturday evening, May 19th, at 7:30 pm. Seguso, the one-time road manager and roommate of Bruce Springsteen, has been writing and singing his special blend of music for more than 40 years.
Equal parts storyteller and vocalist, Rick’s style is laid back. He enjoys taking his audiences back in time, and his traveling troubadour style stirs memories of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. His songs fuse the best of folk, country blues and rock ‘n roll with lyrics that carry thought provoking messages. Rick was and continues to be inspired by artists such as Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, Leonard Cohen, Mark Knopfler, John Prine and all the early Delta Bluesmen.
A man of many talents, Rick Seguso is also a recognized artist of equestrian and music related oil paintings. His award winning work has been displayed in galleries nationally and abroad. Rick’s painting of Delta Blues great Robert Johnson (1911-1938) was recently accepted for display at The Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi. His artwork can be seen at http://www.rickseguso.com.
As if Seguso’s music and artwork weren’t enough, he has been a SAG actor for 17 years and has honed his skills under the direction of mega-star Burt Reynolds.
