National recording artist FLINTFACE will headline the #TAKEBACKYOURVOICE Concert October 17th, the State Theatre announced today at a press conference. Speakers included Shelley Brown, State Theatre President & CEO, Todd Donnelly from The Workshop, and Joe Scorsone, aka FLINTFACE.
Often found spreading the message of anti-bullying and empowerment to high schools across the country, including here in the Lehigh Valley, FLINTFACE brings his powerful message to a unique concert setting at the historic State Theatre. FLINTFACE's music combines energetic instrumentation, classic-rock bombast, and soulful melodies woven together into hopeful tales of the complex path of life. His new album, HOPE is available now.
Tickets for the Oct 17th concert are available now at www.statetheatre.org, by phone at 1-800-999-STATE (610-252-3132) or in person at the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street in Easton. Showtime is 7 PM and tickets are $21 for Adults and $11 for students. Proceeds from the event will benefit the non-profit FREDDY© Awards program, which recognizes and rewards outstanding achievements in local high school musical theater. The show is produced in partnership with The WorkShop and sponsored by SPIN 107.1.
The goal of #TAKEBACKYOURVOICE is to build up student's confidence in knowing and loving who they are. To that point, producers are looking for local, teen musicians to open the show. Teens ages 14 - 19, currently attending high school, can upload a performance video to YouTube tagged #TAKEBACKYOURVOICE. They must also fill out an application at www.statetheatre.org/events/takebackyourvoice and return to the State Theatre to be considered. Application deadline is September 14.
Based on the videos and applications, 10 acts will be invited to audition at the State Theatre on September 24th, where a panel of judges will choose the winners who will perform at the #TAKEBACKYOURVOICE concert on the State Theatre stage.
