Eric Gottlieb Named New WFUV Assistant Program Director

WFUV has announced the appointment of Eric Gottlieb as Assistant Program Director of the public radio station, which is New York's source for music discovery. Gottlieb succeeds Sarah Wardrop, who moves into the newly-created position of Production Director.

Gottlieb comes to WFUV after seven years at Music Choice, which provides commercial free cable music stations in 50 million homes. As Manager in the Music Programming Department, he programmed a dozen formats, including Alternative, Triple-A, and Americana, and was a Video on Demand playlist curator. A Long Island native now living in Brooklyn, Gottlieb also has experience as a radio promoter, road tour and press manager for independent artists.

"Eric will be a great addition," said WFUV Program Director Rita Houston. "His experience and organizational skills will strengthen our programming team, offer new leadership opportunities for me, and position us well to improve, expand and deepen our listener service."

The Assistant Program Director position became open with the appointment of Sarah Wardrop as the station's first full-time Production Director. Wardrop came to WFUV in 2006 from WUMB in Boston, where she had been Music Director. She served as Music Interview Producer before becoming WFUV's Assistant Program Director. In her new role she will oversee WFUV's production efforts, including on-air station imaging and content development, as well as producing FUV Live events.

"Sarah has been indispensable in countless ways to the programming department and the station overall," said General Manager Chuck Singleton. "We're delighted that she'll now apply her creative talents to making WFUV's air sound more vibrant.

WFUV (90.7 FM, wfuv.org), New York's source for music discovery, is a noncommercial, member-supported public media service of Fordham University for 70 years. WFUV has received national recognition for its award-winning weekday format of adult album alternative music, award-winning local news and sports, and a diverse weekend lineup.
