Emerging U.K. band SOCIAL ROOM have debuted the video for their first single "Let's Talk," Stereo Embers.
The site described the band saying, "Social Room are one of those rare bands that arrive fully formed-their sound, their look and their attitude a heavenly confluence of preternatural self-assurance and sheer rock and roll smarts."
The stark mostly B&W video was shot in England along the cold north sea and features model Matilda Wyman (daughter of the Rolling Stones' Bill Wyman). View it here.
"Let's Talk" is the first track from the group's self-released upcoming EP LOVE AND OTHER LIES. Dave Stewart, the Eurythmics co-founder and fellow Sunderland native, produced thesix-piece band from North East England. The group--Matty Smith, vocals; Adam Potts, guitar; Simon Bewick, guitar; Chris Leonard , keys; Alex Gunn, bass; Tim Harker, drums--were influenced by many of the most established Brit-pop and new wave groups of the 90's.
"Let's Talk" is about the "silent treatment," the band explains. "It's the morning after and you know you're in trouble because she's not talking to you but you can't remember why. Everyone has had the silent treatment--it's universally used across the globe. This song says it all, 'let's talk.'"
This summer, look for SOCIAL ROOM to tour the U.K. beginning with a series of festival appearances including Stockton Calling, Tall Ships, Hardwick Live and Evolution Calling.
