Wakes' previously released track, "Tabby Night," has already begun to receive critical praise-Earmilk proclaims, "The vibrant song is a blend of trap, rap, and some catchy pop vibes. The lush production and charming vocal style makes it an alluring work of art," whileAffinity Magazine furthers, "Tabby Wakes is new to the scene, but she is not going to let that stop her from making an impact...[She's] ready to share her music with the world."
Tabitha Wakefield, known by her stage name Tabby Wakes, was born at Interfaith Hospital in Downtown Brooklyn and was raised in Crown Heights. After throwing legendary "Tabby Time" parties as a teen and starting a DIY recording studio, Wakes began to hone in on her talents as a rapper, focusing on original music and collaborating with producers in the underground NY rap scene like Tony Seltzer (Wiki and Princess Nokia). Now 22 years-old, Tabby is freshly signed to Fool's Gold-the renowned Brooklyn independent label that launched Danny Brown, Kid Cudi and countless others-and recording new music at her own Blahkwork studio in Queens, NY.
