English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello is gearing up for his first solo tour on the East Coast in a decade during the month of November. The string of 13 intimate sets begins Nov. 2 in Burlington, Vt., and concludes in Orono, Maine on Nov. 19. Costello croons in Connecticut on Nov. 8 at the Shubert PAC in New Haven.
The Elvis Costello - SOLO tour supports the Sept. 17 Blue Note Records release of the album, Wise Up Ghost, his collaborative project with hip-hop band The Roots. This is Costello's first album since he released National Ransom in 2010.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the new collaboration came about due to Costello's many appearances on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," where The Roots is the house band.
Costello and his band The Imposters last performed on the East Coast in 2011. Their Spectacular Spinning Songbook series featured a giant roulette spun by selected audience members to choose the next song of dozens from Costello's vast catalog of original tunes that the band would perform.
