MEN IN BLAZERS
NIGHT OF A THOUSAND STARS
September 17 at 9:30 PM
SOLD OUT

Soccer has been America's sport of the future since 1972, and the game will take a giant step backwards as Roger Bennett and Michael Davies, co-hosts of theMen In Blazers podcast, take the stage with "a Thousand Stars" to ramble, argue about Downton Abbey, play FIFA 14, and engage in the hard hitting football stories that really matter: Who would win in a battle of big bottomed smalls versus small shouldered talls? Do reds always come out on top over blues? And just who can stop the USA from winning the 2014 World Cup? All that, and the presentation of the World's First Men In Blazers "Golden Blazer of Fame" to an as yet unsuspecting American hero.

JANN KLOSE / BARNABY BRIGHT
September 18 at 9:30 PM
$15

Born in Germany, raised in Kenya, South Africa, and Germany, Jann Klose first came to the States as an exchange student in Cleveland. Now based in New York City, his new album is called "Mosaic." He's co-writing songs and performing with Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley), and has shared the stage with Gary Hoey, Jeffrey Gaines, Renaissance's Annie Haslam, Rusted Root, Vonda Shepard, Pete Seeger, and the late Les Paul. Jann is a featured vocalist and guitarist in "Greetings From Tim Buckley" (Tribeca Film/Focus World). His music is heard on the GRAMMY nominated "Healthy Food For Thought" compilation, MTVCribs and "Dead Broke" (Warner Bros.) featuring Paul Sorvino. Time Magazine Columnist Joel Stein recently pranked Jann this past summer in his column. Writes Paul Freeman of the San Jose Mercury News, "Klose shows he can create diverse new tunes that rival those of such masters as (Tim) Buckley." Nathan and Rebecca Bliss, the voices and the brains behind Barnaby Bright, are the modern day traveling troubadours, averaging 200 shows and 40,000 miles a year. Their music has been featured on "ER" and "Days of our Lives." Barnaby Bright's new album, "The Longest Day," has seen the band playing Lincoln Center and NPR's "Mountain Stage," and sharing the stage with the Lumineers and Norah Jones. Long time music critic Steve Morse (Billboard, Rolling Stone, Boston Globe) says, "Barnaby Bright has a graceful, uplifting energy reminiscent of the Indigos, but also have a virtuosity that is extremely unique. They have a special chemistry that helps erase cynicism while giving hope that the best is yet to come."

Joey Arias: BLIND ITEM
September 19 at 9:30 PM

In today's hyper-connected, socially mediated world information overload is the order of the day, but Joey Arias believes mystery is still an essential part of life. With "Blind Item" the iconic New York performer invites the audience to join him for an evening of scandalous surprises not fit for print. One thing's certain, with Arias as the evening's star attraction the universe of possibilities is bright indeed.

JUSTIN VIVIan Bond: MX AMERICA
September 20 & 21 at 9:30 PM

$25
"The trans-Atlantic cabaret messiah" (Time Out London) Justin VivIan Bond returns to Joe's Pub at The Public in Mx America, an exploration of the "ways of seeing and being seen" as a patriot, a gender non-conformist and a cabaret artist in America. Mx America premiered at Joe's Pub in March to widespread acclaim. "An inventive new cabaret," hailed Theater Mania. "While making us laugh, V is also willing to laugh at V - a rare attribute in today's era of self-important performers." Read the full review here: http://bit.ly/1b1BCTf. As the singular finalist in this Mx America pageant, Mx Bond is judged in such categories as presentation, economic status, mental health, family values and talent all while creating an elegantly formidable evening of beauty and delight. This multimedia performance includes video, spoken word, and original songs from V's critically acclaimed records Dendrophile and Silver Wells. Since 2007, Justin VivIan Bond has performed over 70 shows on the Joe's Pub stage and earned a reputation as "the greatest cabaret artist of (v's) generation" (New Yorker). Through work as a performance artist, author, singer and painter, Justin has ardently challenged the gender binary and gender conformity. "My friend Billy's father once said you could tell the depth of a person's tragedy by the amount of distance between how they see themselves and how they're seen by others. As an American and as a transperson I find this hypothesis to be really interesting," said V. For more information JUSTIN VIVIan Bond, please visit: http://justinbond.com/
