Breakout pop star Ella Vos' new EP, Watch and Wait, is out today-listen below! Watch and Wait was written while Vos was undergoing treatment for lymphoma and explores her illness and diagnosis through a deeply personal lens.
In a personal essay published on Talkhouse this week, Vos details her experience being diagnosed while on her first North American tour and coming to terms with her reality and eventual healing process. Of the project she explains, "We are watching and waiting to see what happens next. I felt the need to write these songs not just because it was what I was experiencing, but because they felt so human. Everything about writing and recording was different during this experience."
Building on over 1.5 million monthly listeners, Vos' new project is the first since her critically acclaimed debut album, Words I Never Said, which has received over 200 million streamsindependently since its release.
Previously released EP tracks include "Ocean" and "Temporary" which The New Nine praises as "dreamy" and "Cast Away" which Uproxx calls "gorgeous, mellowed-out electro-pop."
Vos recently confirmed the dates of her North American tour that will see her perform this Spring in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Nashville, DC, New York, Chicago and more-see below for the full list of dates. Tickets are on sale now.
Acclaimed for her dreamy soundscape and songwriting that explores postpartum depression, motherhood and love from a fierce feminist perspective, Vos' debut album has been praised by the likes of Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, Nylon, Coveteur, Dujour, MILK and Earmilk. Vos has consistently sold out shows across North America. With more than 200 million streams on Spotify to date, Ella Vos' songs have soundtracked ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," MTV's "Catfish," E!'s "Life of Kylie" and The CW's "The Originals." Recently, Vevo dscvr named Vos one of their 2018 Artists To Watch-watch her performance of "I Know You Care" here. In 2019, Ella will be playing festivals, with headlining dates to be announced very soon.
