With "one of those rare, glorious voices that was made - just made - for singing country music" (American Songwriter), Easton Corbin is the real deal. The American Country Awards "breakthrough artist" (one of three ACA awards he won in 2010) brings his solid hooks, lyrics and guitar-driven outpouring of neo-traditional country tunes to the St. Regis Big|Brave Stars, Bright Nights concert series on July 23. His performance comes to the Deer Valley Resort's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater hot on the heels of his third album (released June 30). Guitar prodigy Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown open the show. Concert tickets and information available at Park City Institute's box office, 435-655-3114, or online at www.BigStarsBrightNightsConcerts.org
This "country music throwback with an easygoing, old-school style" (USA Today) performs honest tunes with understated delivery. His hit singles, "A Little More Country Than That" and "Roll With It," thrust the young star into a beyond-the-honky-tonk spotlight in 2009, making him the first solo male artist in 17 years to have his first two singles go Number One.
And while critics tout the native Floridian's "old-school" allure, he carefully infuses his music with modern artistry - and his shows with humor. His skillful blend of old and new creates a timeless sound that appeals to both party-minded fans and country purists - think fiddle and steel guitar blended with radio-ready beats. In addition to his chart-topping debut album, 2012's sophomore "All Over the Road" featured two Top 10 singles "Lovin' You Is Fun" and the title track. His just-released third album, "About to Get Real" features 12 tracks of his textured vocals and a maturing, traditional-meets-contemporary style.
"Easton Corbin is authentic country and fresh artist in a genuine, good guy package," says PCI's executive director Teri Orr. "This is a hardworking every man's man, whose music speaks to all ages and stages and he never fails to deliver a show that thoroughly entertains."
Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown open the evening with unbridled, blues-inflected rock. According to Guitar World, "Some have called [Bryant] a future guitar god and with good reason." Before the age of 21, Bryant received the Robert Johnson Foundation's New Generation Award; was hand-picked by Eric Clapton to play his Crossroads Festival; and opened for Jeff Beck's tour in 2011. He's contributed to Guitar Hero 5 and the score for "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." The Shakedown includes Caleb Crosby (drums), Noah Denney (bass) and Graham Whitford, the son of Aerosmith's Brad Whitford (guitar).
