With the weather still balmy, Labor Day offers one more evening to spend under the stars at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre. This year's final concert of the 2013 summer season is an Eagles' tribute band called Hotel California.
Hotel California will play Sept. 2 beginning at 8 p.m. at 699 S. State St., Orem. General admission tickets range from $14 for adults to $12 for children (age 3-11), seniors (age 65+) and students (with ID). Patrons should bring a blanket or may rent a chair for $1.00 (limited quantities). Tickets are available from 10am-6pm weekdays and 12Noon-6pm Saturday at the main office at SCERA Center for the Arts, by calling (801) 225-ARTS, online at www.scera.org or at the gate 90 minutes prior to the concert.
Five professional musicians faithfully reproduce the sound and authentic instrumentation that propelled the Eagles to the top of music charts in the late 1970s and '80s. Among the hits are "Take It Easy," "Witchy Woman," "Desperado," "Heartache Tonight," "One of These Nights," "Tequila Sunrise" and "Lyin' Eyes."
"The music of the Eagles has incredible staying power," says Adam J. Robertson, SCERA's President & CEO. "That is one reason we were so interested in this group. Their classic rock sound is amazing and brings the Grammy winning band's music to fans old and new."
Hotel California performs up to 200 concerts every year, including special corporate functions, charity benefits, fund raisers, festivals, fairs, and outdoor venues such as the SCERA. Often the main act, they also perform an opener for many of the most prominent names in the entertainment industry.
