Matisyahu, along with Nahko and Medicine For The People are set to headline the third-annual Dry Diggings Festival, being held Saturday and Sunday, September 2-3, in Placerville, California, at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds.
The 2-day, 25-band and 4-DJ music, camping and lifestyle festival will also feature performances by Don Carlos, The Expendables, Barrington Levy, Dilated Peoples, Common Kings, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Sammy J, Orgone andTomorrows Bad Seeds. Dry Diggings will house an interactive vendor village, onsite camping and a pre-party skateboarding competition, along with lessons being held on September 01 at the fairgrounds on-site skate park, with day-of sign-ups at 10am and competition beginning at 1pm. The competition will have notable skateboarder judges.
Additionally, an on-site 215 zone is available to medical card holders, with craft brew tasting provided daily by Altmont Beer Works and Sierra Nevada. Mimosa morningswill kick into action from 9-11am each day, with cornhole and ping-pong backyard style tournaments happening throughout the day and happy hour taking place from 1:30-3pm. Live music begins at noon.

"Our goal for Dry Diggings Festival is to create a unique event, where everyone feels welcome. We've built the foundation around a backyard party atmosphere and have something for everyone, with camping, outdoor activities, beer tasting, incredible music and more," says Dry Diggings founder Jeff Monser. "This year we're adding a skateboard competition, with professional skater judges and also an on-grounds 215 zone for medical card holders. We are excited to expand and grow the Dry Diggings experience."
The Dry Diggings Festival is the brainchild of Jeff Monser, founder of the California Roots Music and Arts Festival. The festival takes place at the base of the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range just 45-miles east of Sacramento and 65-miles west of South Lake Tahoe. The festival's vision is to create a unique music, camping and lifestyle festival experience, where fans come together to enjoy community. Dry Diggings has hosted some of the top names in reggae- rock, and hip-hop, including Rebelution, the Dirty Heads, Tribal Seeds, The Expendables, Fortunate Youth, J Boog, Stick Figureand countless others.
