For Nashville-based, Memphis-born Drew Holcomb, music is medicine, and it seems only fitting that along with his band The Neighbors-wife Ellie (vocals, guitar), Nathan Duggar (guitar, keys), and Rich Brinsfield (bass)-the group will celebrate a decade-long career with a tour in support of their new, full-length studio album, Medicine.
CAPA presents Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors at the Lincoln Theatre (769 E. Long St.) on Wednesday, October 14, at 8 pm. Tickets are $25 at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.), all Ticketmaster outlets, and www.ticketmaster.com. To purchase tickets by phone, please call (614) 469-0939 or (800) 745-3000.
Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors have made several records, and spent the majority of the last decade on the road. Their music has been featured on television shows such as "Nashville," "Parenthood," and "How I Met Your Mother," and they have toured with the Avett Brothers, John Hiatt, Needtobreathe, and a host of others. The group has sold out shows in places from Chicago to Austin, LA to New York, and London to Denver, and sold more than 100,000 records in the process, all while staying independent.
Recorded over nine days at Joe Pisapia's Middletree Studios in East Nashville, Medicine (2015) was co-produced by Joe Pisapia (Ben Folds, KD Lang, Guster, Josh Rouse), and its 12 songs tackle issues of everyday life including loyalty, hardship, marriage, friendship, alienation, and faith.
