Tanglewood is the place to be for Labor Day Weekend. This Saturday, August 31, the Lenox, MA facility hosts two shows: DonAl Fox: Scarlatti Jazz Suite Project at 1:00PM in Seiji Ozawa Hall, and Harry Connick, Jr. at 7:00PM in the Koussevitzky Music Shed.

Saturday, August 31, composer, pianist and innovator DonAl Fox will perform his Scarlatti Jazz Project. Mr. Fox and his quartet will bring their unique amalgam of jazz, Latin, and classical music to Ozawa Hall for this 1 p.m. performance. Mr. Fox is internationally acclaimed as composer, pianist, and improviser in both jazz and classical music. His numerous awards include a Guggenheim fellowship in music composition, and a fellowship from the Bogliasco Foundation, and he is a three time nominee for the CalArts/Alpert Award in the Arts. Mr. Fox recently premiered his Monk and Bach Project at Jazz at Lincoln Center, his orchestra piece, "Hear De Lambs A-Cryin'," commissioned by the Albany Symphony Orchestra for The Spiritual Project, and the world premiere of his piano concerto Peace Out for Improvised Piano and Orchestra at Carnegie Hall with the American Composers Orchestra. He is returning to Tanglewood for the first time since 2010. Harry Connick, Jr.'s meteoric rise in the world of music was only a prelude to a multi-faceted career.
