Digital Performance Artist Molly Soda in 'Inspiring Woman'; New Episode Now Streaming Image

Molly Soda is featured in episode four of Inspiring Woman, the first web series by American Masters, streaming now. Best known for her book Pics or It Didn't Happen: Images Banned From Instagram which looks at Instagram and corporate social media image censorship, digital performance artist Molly Soda explores the boundaries of reality, performance and physical space. In this episode, she talks about the blurring of the line between what we present to the public and what we experience off-screen in our personal lives.

She began creating artwork in the webcam days of MySpace and Tumblr, and today, her sometimes polarizing multimedia work has expanded beyond the Internet, gaining international attention and a place in both print and gallery expositions.

About Inspiring Woman ?In the Inspiring Woman web series, six innovators tell their own stories and explain how they're changing their respective industries: podcast host Tracy Clayton, Chef Angie Mar, JavaScript developer Sara Chipps, web-cam performance artist Molly Soda, entrepreneur Rakia Reynolds, and visual artist Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. The series is streaming now on pbs.org/inspiringwoman, YouTube and Facebook.
