The 28-year-old sensation Devin Bing, ends a run of monthly summer concerts at the Metropolitan Room on Thursday August 15 at 9:30pm.

With easy gentility, the Long-Island native works his surging following of young sophisticates into a pulsing pandemonium. The energy is palpable, the heat is transformative, it's a throwback to the urbane sensuality found in jazz rooms and supper clubs from 52nd Street to Harlem a few years ago.

Yet there's no denying that Bing is in the now, and going places. A contemporary crooner with leading man good looks and charm to burn, the singer-songwriter artfully charges jazz standards with a metro-soul cool, while his original songs already sound like they're standing the test of time.

Alternating between piano, keytar, and a cappella multiphonic singing, Bing blends the old with the new. His deft arrangements give a soul kick to standards like "Angel Eyes," "My Funny Valentine" and "When I Fall in Love," while his own dreAmy Ballads are clearly more than pop confections. Bing's originals are taken from his self-titled debut CD, as well as upcoming album "Shaken Not Stirred" due out in the fall.

Watching Bing's back are his band, The Secret Service, consisting of Michael Feinberg on bass, Blaise Lanzetta on drums and Gavi Grodsky on guitar.

Bing's music charge $20, plus a two-drink minimum. For reservations call the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues), at 212/206-0440 or to order online visit www.metropolitanroom.com.
