How did Desert Moon Metal Festival get created? "Some (band member) friends that play down in Hollywood (Dirty Machine, Killset, Fused By Defiance) asked if I could help promote them up here by the Marine base, where we have a very strong Metal following," recalls DMMFII Promoter, Paul Allen. "At that point, I decided to set up my first live metal show at Willey Boys BBQ, a cool little restaurant that also presents live music, in Morongo Valley. Then early in 2016, Landers Brewery in Landers, Calif. asked if I would come do live music shows at his venue, which is spread out over ten acres. That was when and where the idea for the Desert Moon Metal Festival was born. During our first festival in April 2016, we presented nineteen metal bands in one day." After a successful career as a solo artist, Russell reformed Great White in 2006. Army of Darkness formed in San Bernardino, California in 2004. The project was started by two former members of Kaotic Kreature - guitarist/vocalist Joseph Gonzalez, and bassist, Brian Rogers. They're the main driving forces behind this longtime pillar of the IE/SoCal Metal Scene, whose members now include Andrew Compain (lead guitar/vocals) and George Rios (drum/percussion, backing vocals). AOD continues to slash the scene with a shredding guitar attack and thundering drums, unleashing the sounds of Metal, combined with some elements of Grindcore/Death Metal and Hardcore Punk Thrash, for a head-splitting sound all their own. www.reverbnation.com/armyofdarkness.
