According to E! News, Demi Lovato will be heading to rehab after she's released from the hospital.
Last week, the singer was taken by ambulance to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after an apparent overdose. Lovato remains in the hospital, but is expected to be released soon.
"Demi's turned the corner and is doing much better," a source tells E! News. "She will be released in the next few days and the plan is for her to go to rehab. She is starting to grasp the severity of what happened and that she almost died."
"She is scared and grateful to be alive," the insider continues. "Her family hasn't left her side and have consulted with several people to figure out what the best plan of action is. Everyone wants her to take it very seriously and she seems to be."
Another source tells E! News that Lovato has agreed to go to rehab because "she wants to make a statement to her fans, family and friends that she is strong and can recover."
"Demi knows she needs help," the insider adds. "Her family has told her that this is the time to be a good example to her fans."
"She had a sober coach who she cut out of her life a few months ago. She's been in a downward spiral ever since and has not been doing well," the insider shared. "She's been heavily using and her friends have been very worried that this was going to happen."
While another a second source told E! News, "Demi has been suffering her addiction disease for months now and has been spiraling."
