Born Silas Stapleton in Mississippi, Dear Silas was introduced to the masses in quite the unusual way: a Dexter's Laboratory meme. A remixed clip of a 1996 episode of the Cartoon Network's show where two smitten schoolgirls implore him to "Say it again, Dexter." In the original episode, Dexter falls asleep during a recording of a French lesson, and is only able to say "omelette du fromage" (translation: cheese omelette). In the internet's edited clip, Dexter instead sings Silas' "Skrr Skrr" in the girls ear. The rest, they say, is history, with the video quickly garnering over 200,000 views, three million streams, a Top 40 slot on the iTunes HipHop/Rap chart, and being named the No. 1 Viral Record on Spotify for nearly 12 consecutive days. "Skrr Skrr" and "Under My Feet" are available now on all streaming platforms, and be sure to keep up with exclusive content from artists all over the world on YouTube.com/Vevo.
