The Barns at Wolf Trap has announced its upcoming concerts, featuring singer/songwriter David Wilcox, a cappella group The Persuasions and pop-rock band Ambrosia. Details below.

David Wilcox - Thursday, January 31 at 8 pm - $25
Ohio-born singer/songwriter David Wilcox returns to The Barns At Wolf Trap following his most recent appearance at The Venue in February 2011. Since the early '80s, Wilcox has been delighting folk aficionados with his smooth baritone voice, emotionally-charged lyrics, and distinct guitar playing. His first album release under a major label, How Did You Find Me Here (1989), quickly garnered him a loyal fan base selling more than 100,000 copies in its first year mostly by word of mouth. In the Decades to follow, Wilcox has produced 17 critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively throughout the United States. He is also regarded as a virtuosic guitarist, known for using fingerstyle and open tuning techniques in his playing.

The Persuasions - Friday, February 1 at 8 pm - $25
The Persuasions make a highly anticipated comeback to The Barns since their most recent Wolf Trap appearance three years ago. Long regarded as the "Kings of A Cappella," the group came together in Brooklyn, New York in 1961. More than five Decades later, The Persuasions have released 18 albums, among them Chirpin' (1977) which was named one of the 100 Greatest Albums of the '70s by Rolling Stone magazine. The Persuasions' style combines elements of doo-wop, R&B, pop, and soul, and is influenced by both gospel and secular music. The group's highly successful Journey also includes collaborations with celebrated artists, such as Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, and Paul Simon, as well as musical contributions to hit films, including Joe and E.T.

Ambrosia - Saturday, February 2 at 7:30 pm - $35
Californian pop-rock band Ambrosia will bring its harmonious sounds to The Barns At Wolf Trap for the first time ever. The chart-topping band's music is recognized for its unique progressive rock style, blending classical and world influences with R&B, soul, and blues. Formed in Los Angeles in the early '70s, Ambrosia released its self-titled debut album in 1975, which spawned the hit songs "Holdin' On To Yesterday" and "Nice, Nice, Very Nice." Their initial success was followed by three additional records, five GRAMMY nominations, and five Top 40 singles, including "Biggest Part of Me" and "You're the Only Woman," before the group disbanded in 1982. Ambrosia reunited seven years later with a new lineup that includes three of its four original members. The band has since released two more albums, including Anthology (1997) which is a compilation of their greatest hits.
