Highly respected Radio 1 DJ and producer Danny Howard has unveiled his brand new two-track EP on Shadow Child's highly acclaimed label, Food Music. Set to drop on 1st December, the release showcases Danny's dynamic versatility as a producer, and has received support from a number of the industry's biggest names, including Steve Lawler, Riva Starr, and Gorgon City. The dark bassline on 'Feel Real' takes the track to an afterhours club floor feel, with echoing vocals interjecting a gritty loop. The EP's second track 'Kid' has a warmer feel, with grooving chords contributing to a more rumbling, tribal, production.
The new EP follows up Danny's last production on Food Music, the June EP 'Work That / Holla'. This release comes at an exciting time in Danny's career, with the dance music advocate recently making his Friday night debut on BBC Radio 1, having moved from his previous Saturday afternoon slot.
"At the beginning of the year, I would say more people knew me for DJ'ing," says Danny. "But I want to change that and step up my production game. I want to represent the dance music world 360 degrees in terms of my radio shows, events and my own music."
Having enjoyed a hectic 2017 touring schedule, Danny has played shows at Creamfields, SW4 Cafe Mambo, and Sziget Festival, playing many of the track selections from his highly popular
Nothing Else Matters label, featuring releases from the likes of George Kwali, Apexape, Apres, and many more.
He also debuted his 'The Following meets
Nothing Else Matters' stage at SW4 this summer, where Danny teamed up with UK trio
Disciples to crossover their brands and curate a festival line-up including Erick Morillo, Icarus, Riton, and Sam Divine, at the Clapham event.
Danny Howard's 'Feel Real/Kid' EP is set for release on Friday 1st December via Spotify/Beatport with general release scheduled for Friday 15th December.
