Dankjewel, a Reno-based band of friends who local publications have already labeled as a regional "supergroup," are ready to make a splash in their fresh career with the upcoming music video for their first single, "Vincent Vega." The dance-groove packed track, originally released as an exclusive 24-hour single, is the first single of the band's upcoming full length album, currently on pace for release this December. The video, to be released soon, features excellent cinematography paying homage to the multi-award-winning classic Pulp Fiction.

The band's sound, inspired by psych-pop, synth-wave, and R&B, is led by frontman J*Davey Alastair (vocals, guitar, synth). Following a trip to the Netherlands in the summer of 2015, Alastair returned inspired to create. Recruiting help from the likes of Aaron Chiazza (drums), Alexander Taylor (bass, synth), Paul Curatolo (guitar, vocals), Zach Donley (synths, vocals), and Danny Lennon (guitar, vocals) helped Dankjewel blossom into a band that's hard to ignore.

The concept behind the video was "to capture the essence of everything John Travolta's character was thinking and feeling in that iconic moment." The ambitious synth-driven composition serves a more general purpose, as Alastair states "we wanted to have a song that fit anybody's good mood, something that they could turn on and feel alive listening to." An entirely in-house production with no quantization, the crutch of the modern producer, Dankjewel instead relies on a talented crew of creatively inspired friends for every step of its creation process, from the studio to the screen, proving Reno has the know-how to compete on a major level.

The video follows the trek of a Panda-headed protagonist determined not to let anyone stand in the his path of good times and infectious dancing. Filmed at The Hatch Photography Studio, the music video features camera work, choreography and set design you'd expect from a major blockbuster, all locally made in America's biggest little city. Be on the lookout for "Vincent Vega" dropping soon!
