The fast-rising dance/pop female duo STASH (www.danceSTASH.com) is bringing their high-energy set to West Hollywood's premier hotspot, The Abbey on Wednesday, January 28, presented by Girl Bar LA. Starting at midnight, STASH will perform tracks of their new debut EP, Strip Me Bare.
Behind the two-girl outfit are multi-talented L.A.-based DJ/rapper/songwriter Steph Prost and classically-trained singer, Amanda Maze. Their relentless hard work and infectious music recently scored the indie duo a deal with Central Entertainment Group (CEG) for exclusive representation.
STASH's debut single - the "lousy ex-boyfriend"-inspired anthem "Tear Me Down" - is currently making an impact at Top 40 radio, reaching #4 on the Mediabase Top 40 Pop Independent Label/Artist Most Active rankings and #45 on the BDS Top 40 Indicator Chart. STASH's throbbing, lady-empowering "Strip Me Bare" is also being shipped to clubs and DJs across the country.
A remix by high-profile DJ/producer Danny Olson for "Tear Me Down" was also "Strip Me Bare" - also the title of their debut EP now digitally available on major online retailers - garnered STASH their first Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) in November 2014 for Best EDM/Electronic Dance Music song.
STASH has rolled out two of three high-energy music videos all coming at you from different angles - including a slick, clubby, Hollywood-vintage ('60s) themed clip for "Strip Me Bare," a fun slice of life for "Tear Me Down." The third video is coming soon for their crisp and edgy, fun party manifesto "Red Cup! Pinky Up."
The girls have also been attracting attention from media, recently garnering profiles in Music Connection Magazine, Niji Magazine, Black On The Canvas, Cigars & Leisure, Music Industry News Network, Young Hollywood, and more.
A master at creating fresh mash-ups, San Antonio native Steph Prost had built a great rep producing and DJing for exclusive private parties and events ranging from big film premieres to RedBull Spring Break, the Sundance Festival and South By Southwest. But music had always been part of the multi-instrumentalist's family DNA, and she was restless to expand.
A few years later, Steph's vision, ambition and funky way with a rap perfectly set the groove for the powerhouse vocals of singer, Amanda Maze. With a musical partnership driven by natural chemistry and a playful, laid back friendship, they're having a blast as STASH, gearing up to unleash their high-energy pop meets electro-pop (or, as they like to dub it, "poppy house") on the world.
