Dan Adler Trio Plays The Bar Next Door, 8/22

The Dan Adler Trio will play at La Lanterna (The Bar Next Door) on Sunday, August 22, with two sets at 8 and 10 pm.  La Lanterna is located at 129 MacDougal St., New York, NY 10012.

The concert will feature two musicians from the Adler CD, 'All Things Familiar.'

There is one $12 cover for both sets.

The new Dan Adler Trio CD featuring the organist Joey DeFrancesco is due to be released later this fall.

The Dan Adler Trio is Dan Adler (Guitar), Dmitri Kolesnik (Bass) and Phil Stewart (Drums).

All Things Familiar is a hard-swinging modern bop album led by guitarist Dan Adler. Adler has surrounded himself with a strong ensemble cast for the record, including pianist Richard Samuels, bassist Dmitri Kolesnik, drummer Philip Stewart and saxophonist Grant Stewart. The album rests firmly in the jazz tradition without sounding like a carbon copy of an historical recording. The group comes together to lay down tracks that are full of bop vocabulary, deep-pocket swing and highly-creative improvisations.
