California-based actor-musician Dabier, has had success in front of the camera for almost 15 years. From "House" to "Everybody Hates Chris," he has had both bit and leading parts. Popularly known as Dabier, he makes his mark on the thriving rap scene with his debut EP "New Faces," consisting of songs revolving around hot-button social issues of great concern to today's youth.
Consisting of five songs, "New Faces" is an inspired collection that captures the aspirations and motivations of Dabier's generation. The 21-year old artist presents free-flowing rap that resonates especially with the young crowd. The theme of Dabier's new offering concerns starting from nothing, achieving something, and not losing sight of what is truly important along the way. The central track of "New Faces" weaves the life story of an overnight success who has earned fame and fortune but has forgotten family ties and his roots in the process. Another track, "I Will," starts with the hopeful affirmation that the protagonist's success will help him find his place in the world as an equal among peers. The song references current events as the hero quickly discovers that the concept of equality applies differently for different people. Dabier's observations are at once sharp and acidic and hopeful. He calls out not only hypocrisy but also complacency. Dabier will be performing his EP "New Faces" for the first time! It will be held at the Sevilla Night Club in Long Beach, CA, Aug 31st at 9pm for the Long Beach Indie International Film Festival!
Dabier was born and reared in Long Beach. He made his debut in 2003 in a video called "Sweet Oranges" and later appeared with stars like Vivica A. Fox and Tracy Morgan. In 2015, he released his first single: "The Gen." This release got him noticed, and he has since won an award in Billboard's International Songwriting Contest for being the "best new talent!" Dabier is currently preparing to make a music video version of one of the tunes on his new EP: "New Faces."
Dabier's EP adds to the rich collection of West Coast rap music. It is harmonious with a throbbing beat that evokes rap music as a form of poetry. "New Faces" tackles real and relatable issues delivered in the language of the new generation of artists. The song "New Faces" is also going to be featured in the new film "Good After Bad!" Dabier will also be featured in the Tokewell magazine, profiling Dabier as the next up and coming star.
