DJ Pierre Set To Release Special ACID TRACK Remixes EP To Celebrate 35th Year In Music Image

The king of Acid House, DJ Pierre, will mark his 35th anniversary in the industry this year with a special re-issue of the original 'Acid Track'. '35 - 001' features a range of remixes from the likes of KiNK, Bloody Mary, Paco Osuna, Analog Kitchen, and Beyun.

Pierre will be releasing 35 remixes across 2019 (announced every 3 weeks from now) with further volumes featuring remixes from Carl Cox, Chris Liebing, Kerri Chandler, Dubfire, Nastia, Carl Craig, Luciano, Posthuman and many more.

Each volume will be a limited numbered edition of 500 heavyweight colored vinyl in full printed sleeve. Pre-order here.

First released on Trax Records in 1987, 'Acid Track' was the bi-product of DJ Pierre's three-pronged collective PHUTURE alongside his friends and producers Spanky and Herb J. Causing havoc on Chicago dancefloors upon release, it went on to help ignite the UK rave movement and many artists - including Carl Cox, Daft Punk, and Richie Hawtin - credit DJ Pierre for their own entrance into dance music.

Widely regarded as the leading pioneer of the acid house movement, DJ Pierre's back-catalogue of productions continue to inspire countless fans thanks to his sonic innovation and futuristic philosophies. Recently awarded with the Roland Lifetime Achievement Award, DJ Pierre became the first ever electronic artist to be recognised by the accolade which is given to legendary artists for their important contribution to music.

Giving birth to a genre and pioneering a sound that had the whole world dancing and imitating for over thirty years, Pierre has also mentored artists such as Felix Da Housecat & Roy Davis Jnr, collaborated with the likes of David Morales and had a stint as Head of A&R at Strictly Rhythm. With the dance legend celebrating his 35th anniversary this year, the vinyl-only release of the 'Acid Track' remixes will arrive on 12th July (Pierre's birthday), with a digital release to follow in September.
