The Edge FESTIVAL, which has been run by DF Concerts at the Edinburgh festival for the past twelve years, will not be running this year, according to the Scotsman. DF Concerts will instead bring individual concerts to Edinburgh in August in at least four venues.
An insider told the Scotsman: "The lack of a major sponsor was a major drawback for DF Concerts. If you don’t have the big bands playing, the profile of the event isn’t as high for all the other bands playing at the smaller venues."
The festival, which was previously known as T ON THE FRINGE, sold in excess of 130 thousand tickets in 2007, but downsized after the withdrawal of Tennents in 2008.
