A dream team of Cuban musicians living in Los Angeles, Cuba L.A., comes to the Scherr Forum on Saturday, March 19 at 8:30 PM.

Cuba L.A. keeps the soul of Cuban music alive, mixing rhythms, forms and instrumentations from different regions of Cuba to create a lush ensemble sound. Led by Grammy Award-winning flautist Danilo Lozano, a founding member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the group includes Luis Eric González (distinguished musician who has performed with Rick Martin, Tito Puento and Celia Cruz), Arturo Velasco (known for his work on Neil Diamond:Hot August Night), Johnny "Dandy" Rodriguez Jr. (leader of The Mambo Legends Orchestra), Michito Sanchez (percussionist who has performed with Tito Puente, Elvis Costello and Bruce Hornsby), Alberto Salas(Grammy winning producer, arranger, keyboardist and percussionist) and Jorge Sawa-Perez(bassist who formed part of the renown group Cubanismo).

The band has grown a reputation for percussive and melodic fireworks - poly-rhythmic timbales, congas and bongos provide an unbelievable backdrop to scorching performances on trumpets, flute, piano, and strings. "Coming from Los Angeles, a cultural hub, we're able to easily bring in so many musical sensibilities to the traditional music - Afro- Cuban, Latin, Jazz and dance music...it's all here, and it's all part of Cuban music today" says Lozano.

Single tickets are priced at $39.00 - $34.00 with group discounts available. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or through the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Box Office, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
