Crosby, Stills, and Nash (CSN) announced the release of an all-new, custom CSN app that is the first subscription-based iPad app for a recording artist to be approved for sale in the Apple App Store, last week as they finished their 2012 world tour. Developed by Contendis for its Artist2Fan® platform, the "Crosby, Stills & Nash Official App" is live in the App Store, and installation is free. All users will experience a detailed, media-rich overview of CSN's history, with links to the group's official website, social media sites, and to iTunes. For $3.99 a month—or $39.99 a year—subscribers to the CSN Official App will have access to exclusive content, updates, and premium fan features. Subscriptions can be purchased via an in-app link.

"Use this app as an open door to our music," says Graham Nash. "And, as usual, when one door closes—another one opens...enjoy exploring."

Fans will experience dynamic and ever-growing content in the CSN app's four unique rooms—"The Attic," "The Studio," "The Road," and "The Living Room"—and a custom store for limited merchandise. In addition to in-depth content spotlighting CSN, the app will explore the histories and music of the bands that David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash were members of prior to joining together as a trio in 1969—The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Hollies, respectively.

"We are thrilled to be working with Crosby, Stills & Nash on this groundbreaking iPad app honoring their legacy and body of work," says James Raymond, co-founder/COO, Contendis, Inc. "We look forward to providing CSN and other great artists with a platform to engage and connect with their fans in a profound new way."

CSN just wrapped up its critically acclaimed 2012 world tour, which concluded with five sold-out concerts at New York City's Beacon Theatre. For the second set of the final show, they played the group's classic 1969 debut album Crosby, Stills & Nash in its entirety—an in-concert first. Billboard reviewed the show stating, "For a band whose songs have been locked in amber by soundtracking so many American memories, the music sounded refreshingly immediate."

Crosby, Stills & Nash is also one of three CSN albums recently released in high-res audio on HD Tracks. One of Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time," Crosby, Stills & Nash introduced songs "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Marrakesh Express," and "Guinevere." Also available on HD Tracks are: CSN (1977)—featuring "Dark Star" and "Just A Song Before I Go"—and Daylight Again (1982), with stand-outs including "Southern Cross," a crowd favorite on CSN's 2012 tour. Reviewing the Red Rocks show for MSN Music, Mark Brown wrote, "CSN absolutely killed it …It's hard to believe that any band in 2012 would be putting on better shows than it did in 1969, but CSN did just that."

CSN 2012, a 25-song set presenting the group's first live performance film in more than 20 years, was released in July. Captured in high-definition during an early leg of CSN's 2012 tour, the set is available worldwide from CSN Records in Blu-ray, DVD/2CD and Digital formats. CSN 2012 has been on the Billboard charts for the last 15 weeks, since release. A review in American Songwriter noted, "What comes through is a genuine camaraderie, mutual respect and a joy of performing."

More than four decades since CSN first harmonized in Laurel Canyon, and played its first-ever concert as a trio at the legendary Woodstock festival, its members continue a creative partnership that is one of the most influential and enduring in music. David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash have each been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two times—once with Crosby, Stills & Nash, and a second time with The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Hollies, respectively. They have also been inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, honoring both CSN as a group, and each member as individual solo artists.
