Eric Durrance's new single, "Superman" (Silvercreek Records), pays tribute to ordinary people who do extraordinary things. The song, which will be included in a new album to be released by Durrance and the Tobacco Rd Band in 2014, features him singing of tragedies that proliferate in the news.
"We try and make sense of it all, and get back up after the fall, but it's harder than it seems," he sings. "We sure could use a helping hand-somebody call Superman."
"I was thinking about people like firefighters, police officers and soldiers who put their lives on the line, to protect us," Durrance said. "Each one of them is a real Superman or woman. This song is dedicated to them."
"We are really proud of this song," said Stafond Seago, president of Silvercreek Records. "It's a beautiful ballad that I think everyone can relate to."
Earlier this year, Durrance released the single "That's Country," featuring Colt Ford. He also co-wrote the hit single "Eight Second Ride" with country superstar Jake Owen.
Durrance formed the
Tobacco Rd Band in 2010, after having toured as a solo artist with
Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum. He signed with Silvercreek Records in Nashville last summer and has been working on his first album with the new label.
"It's almost finished," he said. "We just have to mix a few of the tracks. It sounds amazing. I can't wait for people to hear it."
