Country singer/songwriter Kaitlyn Baker will help kick off the fall tourist season in the Smoky Mountains with a free acoustic concert at The Island in Pigeon Forge tonight, September 26, courtesy of Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine Distillery.
Baker will perform on the outdoor stage at the "Ole Smoky Barn," one of the company's two distilleries, which includes a tasting bar and retail store. The concert is open to all ages.
"The performance area outside Ole Smoky has a great down-home atmosphere," Baker said. "We'll be doing some new songs, as well as a lot of music people are already familiar with. I am really looking forward to it."
Baker, who is based in Southwestern Virginia, has two songs that have recently received national attention. Her single "Burn" has been played on many country radio stations throughout the U.S., and inspired the creation of Kaitlyn Baker's BURN Sauce, which is produced by Pepper Palace, in Sevierville, Tennessee. The music video for "Burn" can be seen here.
One of Baker's other singles, "Coal Train," was included on the 2015 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards ZinePak, a 2-CD set featuring songs by country superstars as well as emerging artists, and distributed through Walmart. Baker will also soon appear on the nationally syndicated PBS television concert series "Song of the Mountains."
With more than 60 retails and specialty shops, restaurants, rides, games and other attractions, The Island in Pigeon Forge is one of East Tennessee's most popular shopping destinations. Baker's concert at the Ole Smoky Barn will be her second at The Island since last October.
Ole Smoky® Tennessee Moonshine Distillery was founded in 2010, and now has products available in 49 states and Canada.
