Country Newcomer Ali Auburn Releases Lead Single 'Hero'

New Jersey native and country music newcomer Ali Auburn releases empowering lead single Hero, off her forthcoming record, due out this April. The song, which typifies the theme of empowerment through self-discovery, serves as an inspirational message to anyone who has ever struggled with self-assuredness.

"I wrote Hero after finally getting to the point where I could look at myself in the mirror and know that I was enough. That inner recognition gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams with a new ferocity because I didn't need anyone else to validate my songwriting or music; I was validating myself. I think that if every girl could get to that point and truly believe in her heart that she is good enough the way she is, then we really could run the world."

Hero, which was inspired by the healing process after a difficult breakup, almost never made it into the studio. "When I wrote the songs that ended up making it on this upcoming record, at the time, I honestly thought that I was done recording and performing. I just needed an outlet, and my guitar was there. But then I realized how special these songs were, and I knew I couldn't keep them hidden away. So, I decided that I would record them, but that it was going to be on my own terms and in my own way."

Recorded at The Gradwell House in Haddon Heights, NJ, Auburn is responsible for single-handedly writing the lead single and all remaining nine tracks on the project. She also produced the album, alongside engineer and co-producer Matt Weber.

Ali Auburn is no stranger to the country music scene, having first taken the leap into the Nashville music scene nearly ten years ago, she's played hundreds of shows since. Having opened for the likes of Chris Young, Zac Brown Band, and Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, her voice has been described as "angelic and pure, with just enough grit to stay interesting." With a country/pop/rock sound, Auburn blends the sophistication of artists such as Alison Krauss with the playfulness of Kelsea Ballerini.
