Popular band, COMMON KINGS, are pleased to announce the release of SUMMER ANTHEM their new EP created just for the fans that have supported them for the past three years. The group's official debut EP will follow Summer Anthem in September. Summer Anthem is available on iTunes. Buy it here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/summer-anthems-ep/id689365837
Band Co-Manager Tautua Reed speaks on their fan base. "We've always felt that we needed to cater to Hawaii and Pacific island markets first to build a foundation of listeners where the music rings true to our hearts. It was a successful plan because our fans have been amazingly faithful. We grew from opening shows to selling out headlining shows with hundreds of thousands of records sold."
While the SUMMER ANTHEM EP will stay true to the group's R&B and Reggae roots, COMMON KINGS official debut in September will offer fans a transition that bridges the old with the new. It's "the old sound with a mash up of Bruno Mars meets Maroon 5 meets, Sublime," states Mata.
COMMON KINGS, a band of four young men whose roots hail from the South Pacific, came together in Orange County, California in 2011. Since they have racked up nearly 10 million YouTube views for "Alcoholic," "Wade in Your Water," "No Other Love," and "Fly" combined. To date Common Kings have sold in excess of 150,000 records across three singles independently released.
Live shows have also been a huge route to their success, having sold out shows all across the US, especially on the west coast, the Pacific, and also in New Zealand, Japan, and Australia. During their travels they recently filmed a documentary giving the fans a sneak peak into the tour life of Common kings, the documentary was filmed in New Zealand, Australia, Guam, Samoa & Hawaii.
The group is comprised of Lui Ivan Kirimaua (aka Uncle Lui), Jerome Taito (aka Rome), Taumata Grey (aka Mata), and Sasualei Maliga (aka Junyer), the group's lead singer.
In addition to putting new music out, the band also boasts a healthy touring schedule, starting with the EP launch party & headline show at House of Blues on Sunset in LA on September 16th followed by key dates in the U.S and a lengthy visit in the Fall to Australia and New Zealand where the band tours with New Zealand's Katchafire. Fans are used to the group giving electrifying live shows where COMMON KINGS closes out with an incredible mix of Skrillex combined with Steel Pulse's "Steppin' Out" that kills.
