Prolific singer-songwriter Clint Black has long been heralded as one of Country music's brightest stars with one of the most storied careers in modern music. He surged to superstardom as part of the fabled Class of '89, reaching #1 with five consecutive singles from his triple-platinum debut, Killin' Time. He followed that with the triple-platinum Put Yourself in My Shoes, and then a string of platinum and gold albums throughout the '90s. Perhaps most impressively, Clint wrote or co-wrote every one of his more than three dozen chart hits, including "A Better Man," "Where Are You Now," "When My Ship Comes In," "A Good Run of Bad Luck," "Summer's Comin'," "Like the Rain" and "Nothin' But the Taillights," part of a catalog that produced 22 #1 singles and made him one of the most successful singer/songwriters of the modern era.
Along the way, Clint has sold over 20 million records, earned more than a dozen gold and platinum awards in the U.S. and Canada, landed nearly two dozen major awards and nominations, including more than a dozen GRAMMY nominations, and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Now he takes the spotlights at the Spencer Theater tonight, October 3rd at 7 p.m. with his four-man band for an intimate evening sharing all his greatest hits. Excellent seats are available for $89-$99. Call the Spencer Box Office at 575.336.4800 or go online to www.spencertheater.com for tickets.
Without a doubt, Clint Black has earned his place as one of the most successful artists in the history of American music; but he has not stopped there. Black memorably flexed his acting chops with a cameo in 1994's Maverick (alongside Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster), as well as with roles in films such as 2000's "Going Home" (with Jason Robards) and the starring role in 1998's "Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack." "Flicka 2" (with Patrick Warburton) was released in May 2010, which was then followed up in 2012 with "Flicka - Country Pride" which starred not only Clint, but his wife Lisa and daughter Lily as well. Black has also performed on TV shows including "The Larry Sanders Show," "Las Vegas," "King of the Hill" and many others. In addition to a heavy touring schedule, Clint is currently developing a Broadway production based on the life of his friend Roy Rogers.
At his Friday, October 3rd Spencer concert, Black will appear with his longtime band members: Hayden Nichols, guitar & band leader • Dick Gay, drums • Jake Willemin, bass • Dwain Rowe, keyboards. Don't miss out on this incredibly intimate evening with one of Country music's greatest at the acoustically supreme Spencer Theater! See you there.
