Produced by Jay Newland and arranged and directed by Rob Mounsey, Jazz Loves Disney celebrates the heritage of Disney music from beloved films such as Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book and more.
Jamie Cullum lends his voice to a sultry rendition of "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat", while Gregory Porter sings the classic "When You Wish Upon A Star." Melody Gardot takes on "He's a Tramp", and French singer Stacey Kent sings a bossa nova version of Cinderella's "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo." Walt Disney loved jazz and paid great attention to the writing of the music accompanying his heroes' adventures. Dedicated teams wrote and performed these essential songs that carried the emotional messages of beloved characters. Several of these tunes have either been nominated for or won Academy Awards, a true acknowledgment of the quality of such beloved and enchanting future standards, which many jazz and pop stars--Louis Armstrong, Peggy Lee, Johnny Mathis, Bette Midler, Linda Ronstadt, among them--have covered at some point in their career.Videos
