City Parks Foundation, in partnership with Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams and Council Member Mark Treyger are thrilled to announce that SummerStage is returning to theFord Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn this summer for five free concerts between June and August.
The 5-show run will launch on June 20 with lyricist and MC Big Daddy Kane celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album in his home borough of Brooklyn. On July 8, five of Jamaica's highly acclaimed and longest-running groups will join together for a night of dancehall and reggae with Barrington Levy, Third World, Kabaka Pyramid, DJ Gravy and Federation Sound. On July 13, two of Puerto Rico's most important salsa performers, Tito Rojas and Andy Montañez, will perform on a rare double bill. A trifecta of street-inspired MCs will perform on July 29 with The LOX, Young M.A and special guest DJ Funk Flex. Closing out the run on August 12 is an all-female lineup featuring Dej Loaf, one of hip-hop's freshest new female rappers, singers and songwriters. She will be joined by urban jazz musician Iamdbb., making her New York debut, and electronic-pop singer Quiñ.
