Hailing from Woodbridge Ontario, DIY vocalist and producer Chris LaRocca releases his debut Voila EP today. The soulful, electronic-infused five-track collection connects LaRocca's vision for expansive pop music with a staggering attention to detail. Written over the course of a year and brought to life with the help of co-producer Herag Sanbalian, the EP was assembled during a time when he was working 12-hour days at three separate jobs to fund the project.

Included on the EP are his self-released first single "Closer" (championed by FADER and Zane Lowe), the synth-savvy "Roses," and his most recently released single "Wild" which NYLON dubbed "hypnotic." Listen to the full stream here.

After years in Toronto's DIY scene as part of math rock/indie band Elos Arma, Chris dove into the production world, utilizing a combination of synths and drum machines - no computer. A self-taught musician gifted with a soaring natural falsetto, Voila firmly roots LaRocca as an ambitious, unpretentious, and accessible solo artist. Fans in Toronto can catch Chris live for the first time on October 4th at The Drake Underground - presale tickets can be purchased here.
