Chris Isaak Comes to Ridgefield Playhouse Tonight

Tonight, September 3, at 8 p.m., Chris Isaak will showcase his smooth, dusky baritone voice and effortless brand of cool at The Ridgefield Playhouse. Isaak has wowed audiences worldwide with moody ballads like "Wicked Game" and rock songs like "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing" not to mention his other hits "Somebody's Crying". His latest album Beyond the Sun, pays tribute to the roots of rock 'n' roll. Isaak's breakthrough began when famed director David Lynch used the instrumental version of Isaak's song "Wicked Games" in the film Wild at Heart. With a quarter century of music under his belt, Isaak has created the album he always wanted to?make, Beyond the Sun, his 15th, which rings with his signature mix of pathos and humor. Elvis is heavily represented in Isaak's Beyond the Sun in the timeless "Trying to Get to You", "I Forgot to Remember to Forget", "Can't Help Falling in Love", "How's the World Treating You", "It's Now or Never", "She's Not You" and "My Happiness", the first song Elvis ever recorded. Isaak opens the set with Cash's "Ring of Fire", and later offers his take on "I Walk the Line."

In addition to Chris Isaak's status as a rock star, he has appeared in numerous films and starred with Keanu Reeves and Bridget Fonda in the 1993 Bernardo Bertolucci-directed Little Buddha. Isaak also played a major role in David Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992). Other motion pictures include Married to the Mob (1988), The Silence of the Lambs (1991), That Thing You Do! (1996), A Dirty Shame (2004), and The Informers (2008).
