Celtic Weekend at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire Set for 5/7-8

The Renaissance Pleasure Faire invites all of our guests to celebrate Celtic Weekend. With featured entertainment of Clan MacColin Irish Dancers and The Freestylers of Piping, our guests will experience this highland fling which will stir one's "inner Celt". Celtic Weekend at the Renaissance Pleasure is the weekend where bagpipes will never be thought of the same way again.

A mere ten minutes east of Pasadena lies a land seemingly thousands of miles away. It's a land of imagination, as if built by house elves hundreds of years ago. It's here where jousting knights, saucy wenches, regal ladies, and the court of a beautiful and gracious queen mix with today's hipsters, history buffs, fantasy lovers and families. The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire - the world's oldest - presents its 54th season beginning April 9th and continuing each weekend through May 22nd at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale, CA.

Special Events during Celtic Weekend include:

  • Adult Only Coloring Contest - (Note: This contest is for guests age 21+) Color your stress away and you could win a two-night escape at the gorgeous Castle Wood Cottages. The contest will take place at Rogues Reef (NC-17) area of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, where judges will view your art. Pull one of the designs as shown at RENFAIR.COM and bring your finished masterpiece to Rogues Reef by 3:30pm. The Grand Prize Winner (announced at 4:30pm in Rogues Reef) will receive a two-night stay at Castlewood Cottages in Big Bear.
  • Maids of Honour in Training - (for ages 6-10) Be one of 20 lucky little girls of the realm. Join the Maids of Honour in the Nobles Glade to learn how tend to the Queen. The Maids of Honour in Training will learn to walk, reverence and address people like a true Maid of Honour. The new Maids might even perhaps have the opportunity to meet the Queen. Sign up at the Guest Services Gazebo inside the Front Gate.
  • Mother's Day Weekend Wine Tasting - In celebration of the women in our lives, the Renaissance Pleasure Faire is hosting a Self-Guided Wine Tour throughout the Shire. Five different wines are featured on the adventure. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Crown & Anchor Pub near the Main Entrance. At the conclusion of your tour, complete the a rating card and turn it in at the Guest Services booth located at the top of the Food Court for a chance to win one, two 2-night stays at the beautiful Castle Wood Cottages in romantic Big Bear.
  • Mother's Day Pub Crawl (Ladies Only) - Cheers to all the Mothers out there. On Sunday, May 8, join us for a ladies only, Mother's Day Pub Crawl. Start time for this one of a kind event is 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Crown and Anchor Pub on a first-come first-serve basis, Sunday only. Must be 21 to participate in the Pub Crawl. Children are not permitted. IDs will be checked for everyone.

Use the Irwindale Stop on the Metro Gold Line. Plan a responsible way home. Take the Metro into the new Irwindale Station and use Lyft to get to the Faire. Simply download the Lyft app, enter code RenFaire, and first time users will receive a $20 discount on your ride to and/or from the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, which will more than cover the cost of taking Lyft to the Faire from the station. And you will be delivered to the VIP gate for easy passage into the Faire.

Tickets
Tickets for The Renaissance Pleasure Faire are $28.95 for adults and $15 for children aged 5-12. Children 4 and under are always free. Adult season passes are $150 and a child's season pass is $60. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, at participating Walgreens stores, or online at RENFAIR.COM. The seven-week Faire is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 7 pm; April 9th - May 22nd at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, 15501 Arrow Highway, Irwindale, CA. A Vehicle Entry fee of $10 is charged by Los Angeles County.
