Celebrate Kansas City And All Things Royal At First Pitch Party Inside Union Station

The Kansas City Royals, Royals Charities and area Rotary Clubs will kick off the 31st annual Greater Kansas City Day on Thursday March 29th at Union Station with a FREE community event including autographs from Kansas City sports celebrities and sales of special 50th season flags.

Kansas City's historic landmark will kick-off the season early on Wednesday night by illuminating it's exterior Royal Blue. Then Thursday morning it will be a celebration of Kansas City and all things Royal inside Grand Hall with prize drawings, giveaways, face painting, FREE Dunkin Donuts, balloon artists, music, live radio remotes, appearances by Sluggerrr and KC Wolf....and MORE!!! Fans will have the opportunity to meet and get autographs from Kansas City sports celebrities* including: Bobby Bell, Jaime Bluma, Keith Cash, Dustin Colquitt, Anthony Davis, Jim Eisenreich, Mike Macfarlane, Brian McRae, Warren Moon, Christian Okoye, Jayice Pearson, Bud Stallworth and Frank White.

Greater Kansas City Day activities benefit Royals Charities, Rotary Youth Camp and other local children's charities. Fans can help send disadvantaged youth and children with disabilities to camp by purchasing a commemorative copy of The Kansas City Star at the Party. Celebrate Opening Day by flying your very own flag designed specifically for Greater Kansas City Day supporters and the Royals 50th Season! Limited edition 2'x3' flags will be available while supplies last for a $10 donation to Royals Charities.

Honorary co-chairs for this year's event are Royals Hall of Fame Broadcaster Denny Matthews and Price Chopper's Casie Broker. Since 1924, more than 400,000 children with disabilities and disadvantaged youth have enjoyed a unique camping experience, free of charge, at the Rotary Youth Camp. Located at Lake Jacomo, the Rotary Youth Camp features cabins, tent camping, a mess hall, a nature trail and a wheelchair-accessible swimming pool that allows boys and girls with special needs to take part in outdoor activities.
