Carolina-Grassers SIDELINE Spin Tight Tale With New Single THUNDER DAN Image

Carolina-Grassers SIDELINE spin a tight tale of the dark side with their debut single, "Thunder Dan," for Mountain Home Music Company. The story of a "lone outsider," the track is from the group's upcoming album, FRONT AND CENTER,due out this spring. "Thunder Dan" is now available to radio via AirPlay Direct, and to music lovers everywhere on all streaming outlets. The single and video just premiered on Bluegrass Today.

The mid-tempo groove draws the listener in, and the catchy melody, tight picking and Troy Boone's emotive lead vocal make the grim lyrics a surprising counterpoint. The band's signature harmonies ensure that the track, written by Josh Manning and produced by Tim Surrett, is an addictive listen.

Thunder Dan is a fighter, a lone outsider

If you cross him he'll bring you down

Four dogs, five hogs, and a house made of logs

He lives 30 miles out of town, Thunder Dan (J. Manning)

Group spokesman and banjoist Steve Dilling notes, "I think it's a great representation of our sound. It's fun to play, the vocal tags at the end of each verse are really interesting, and the audience response at our last few gigs has been fantastic."

The group can expect even more positive feedback at shows this month:

ABOUT SIDELINE

A pedigreed six-piece powerhouse that has set the pace in Bluegrass for over two decades, SIDELINE was founded by Steve Dilling (banjo), Skip Cherryholmes (guitar) and Jason Moore (bass). The three have all made historical and significant contributions to the genre as members of highly-awarded groups, with multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances, and years of global touring behind them. What started as a side project for these seasoned players soon moved to the front and center as the core members were joined by Nathan Aldridge (fiddle), Bailey Coe (guitar) and Troy Boone (mandolin). With songs that range from pulse-pounding barn burners to those sung from the heart, this sextet brings perfected timing and dynamic - as well as visceral emotion - to their music. With three previous successful album releases, audiences have found that whether live or recorded, the group moves dynamically from well chosen, neo-traditional covers to new material curated with a holistic sense of identity and mission. Add their on-stage energy and powerful harmonies to the mix, and you have the best of the revered Carolina-Grass sound.
