UK crooner Calum Scott, the man behind one of the world's most recognisable and loved renditions of Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own', will play his first ever Australian and New Zealand shows later this month. Anticipation for this tour is high, with Scott's Sydney and Melbourne shows already completely sold out.
Adding to an already unmissable tour, Frontier Touring are thrilled to announce that Scott will be joined on stage by Ellie Drennan for all Australian shows, and by Alae for his debut Auckland performance.
In 2015, Ellie Drennan became the youngest ever winner of The Voice Australia at just 16, scoring herself a recording contract with Universal Music Australia. With coaching from Jessie J, she caught the attention of Aussie viewers instantly, and has since gone on to release stunning singles 'Ghost' and 'Hard Love', as well as debut album Close Your Eyes, to much success.
Kiwi up-and-comers Alae will release their debut album Henry Street in just a few short weeks, hitting shelves on 26 October. It features tracks like 'All Gived Up', 'Too Strung Up'and 'Stone Cold', which have helped the band break all sorts of NZ streaming records for local independent artists. Regular touring around Australia and New Zealand, support slots with the likes of John Butler Trio and Nomad and sets at festivals like BIGSOUND and Rhythm & Vines have put Alae well and truly on the map as ones to watch.
Calum Scott's heartwarming appearance on Britain's Got Talent in 2015 shot him to instant global stardom, and when he officially released his audition song 'Dancing On My Own' as the lead single from his debut album Only Human, it took the world by storm. The track quickly accumulated more than 6.5 million worldwide sales, reached 5x Platinum in Australia and saw the former recruitment officer from Hull nominated for the Brit Award for British Single Of The Year. Upon its release, his album resonated strongly with Australian audiences, peaking at #5 on the ARIA chart.
Scott's elegantly sculpted pop centres on his soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, exemplified in gently uplifting single 'You Are The Reason' (currently certified 2x Platinum in Australia), aching piano ballad 'Hotel Room' and hit single 'Rhythm Inside'.
2018 has certainly been a significant year for the 29 year old as he embarked on his first headline tour across the UK and Europe in May. This month, it's our turn.
'['No Matter What'] left concert goers captivated as Scott's voice radiated throughout a silent crowd. Upon finishing the song, Scott couldn't hold his emotions back and walked to the back of the stage to dry his eyes as he received one of the biggest ovations of the night.' - The Courier Online
