Hundreds of Country radio, music industry executives and fellow artists were on hand at this morning's 17th Annual MusicRow Country Radio Meet & Greet And CountryBreakout Awards ceremony, where CJ Solar was presented with the "Independent Artist of the Year" honor. Solar hit #15 on the MusicRow CountryBreakout chart with both his "Airplane" single and his most recent hit "American Girls."
"Wow, what a great way to wrap up an amazing year and kick off a new one," said CJ after performing a rousing set for the packed house. "Thank you to Music Row and my amazing team for giving us this incredible opportunity and for the support we've received from the Country radio family."
CJ will spend Wednesday and Thursday morning juggling media and radio interviews and meetings at the annual Country Radio Seminar in Nashville before heading to Loveland, CO and Dodge City, KS to open for Gary Allan on Thursday and Friday and a headline date at Gilley's in Oklahoma on Saturday. He has been in the studio working on new music that will be out later this year.

About CJ Solar: Born and raised in Baton Rouge, CJ was heavily influenced by the soulful music of the region, along with Southern Rock and Country. He signed to Sea Gayle Music shortly before graduating from Belmont University and has had cuts by Jerrod Niemann, Justin Moore and Texas artists Mike Ryan and Kyle Park. He scored his first #1 as a writer, when Morgan Wallen's "Up Down" single featuring Florida Georgia Line, topped both the Billboard and Mediabase charts. He received his first ASCAP Award for the chart topper.
His critically-acclaimed Hard One To Turn Down EP, which The Shotgun Seat called "the perfect pairing of country storytelling and rocking rhythms, married by his dynamic vocals," led to him being named one of their "17 to Watch in 17." When his new Get Away With It EP was released, top country entertainment outlet Taste of Country named CJ as one of their "5 Country Artists to Watch in May 2018." Rolling Stone Country named CJ one of their "New Artists You Need To Know."
