CJ Solar kicked off the week chatting with numerous radio stations about his "American Girls" single and accepting his first ASCAP Award for co-writing Morgan Wallen's "Up Down" single, and he will wrap up the week performing at the Tiger One Village tailgate event prior to the LSU vs. Rice football game on Saturday.
"I grew up going to LSU football games with my dad," said CJ, a native of Baton Rouge. "Since they started having bands perform at Tiger One Village, I've always wanted to say I got to play at Tiger Stadium. I'm incredibly excited to bring my band down to take in their first LSU game and to play for my fellow LSU fans."
Tiger One Village is the go-to spot with the ultimate pre-game atmosphere and entertainment leading up to the big game. Situated directly outside Tiger Stadium, over 100,000 fans are expected to be in attendance to see LSU (7-2) take on Rice.
CJ joined an elite group of songwriters Monday night, when he was proudly presented an ASCAP Award medallion for co-writing "Up Down."
"Receiving my first ASCAP Award was a huge honor, and I was so happy to share the moment with my publishing home Sea Gayle Music," said CJ. "It was truly a moment I'll never forget and so thankful to be a part of ASCAP."
